Chock Full O’Nuts coffee is a New York brand that had grown stale in grocery and stand-alone stores. The outdated brand was struggling to compete in the marketplace.
Our agency was asked to develop a series of promotional campaigns to be executed in and out of stores. The task included rebranding. My role included concepting and developing the promotional tactics and events, copywriting for all elements, and creative direction.
The campaign included an on-pack and in-store game, sampling, in-store signage, city guides, regional radio spots, oversized posters around Manhattan and events in Central Park. Promotional grand prizes included a private showing by the band, Live, in an event we named, Chock Loft Live.
Working with Stacy Sarna (New York-based Account Director), Bryan Rachal (Dallas-based Art Director/Designer), we developed an attitude for the brand that was “insider” New York. Our client praised me for developing the “NY voice” for the brand that went “beyond the cliche.”
Awards included a 2004 Silver Dallas Addy Award and a 2004 National Pro Award from Promo Magazine for excellence in promotions, execution, and measured lift in sales.
